When you were a baby and tried for the first time to stand up just imagine as you fell back down to the ground if you gave up, imagine if you thought 'well that doesn't work' and then decided to just never bother trying to walk again and spent the rest of your life crawling around the place as you had one set back.
Of course babies never gave up and continue to try, fall down, bump their heads, try, try and try again until they walk as they learn each time what didn't work and adjust, but with dieting people are forever having 'blips', 'problems' and 'issues' and then allowing themselves to stop dieting and regain weight because they have 'blown it'.
But you only fail when you stop trying.
I spent 20 years trying to get slim, I spent thousands of pounds on different diets, gym memberships, DVD's, exercise equipment and other gimmicks but I kept falling down and not getting slim.
But I never gave up hope, I never gave up trying and I never gave up believing that one day I would find the courage, strength and want/need combination to get slim and stay slim.
So next time you eat on a diet when you 'should'nt' or have a bad day and have that glass of wine, or have too many nibbles at a work do or whatever the problem is then don't give up on yourself, just learn from it and move onwards, upwards and inwards.
You only fail when you stop trying, and never ever stop trying !
