I have for many years now been fascinated and commented many times on how in 2011 when we have more diets, more gyms, more exercise products, more healthy eating advice, more information and better healthcare than every before have we got more overweight and obese people than ever before.
If all of this worked then surely we would have less overweight people ? The fact the diet and health industry does not create long term success is something we all know and we all know that most people regain all of their weight and more but somehow this seems to be missed as the next fad diet or dance fitness routine comes along.
This book by Gary Taubes in my opinion is spot on, he analyses the same issue that I have talked about in how can we all continue to try the same old diets and not get results everytime and yet be stuck in the lifestyle.
This book is both blunt and to the point and may be too much for some people who want to believe that eating an apple at lunchtime really is going to help them stay slim long term.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants to look beyond the fluff and the TV adverts and actually look at the science of whether diets really work.
The Diet Delusion is a fantastic informative and eye opening book and can be purchased from Amazon at The Diet Delusion
Congratulations for being able to publish such book. I'm sure you'll inspire a lot of people, especially those who are desperate of losing weight. Good job!

Reading a book that tells you directly what's holding a person back from achieving the kind of body he or she desires does seem like a book worth considering. Thanks for providing a brief overview.

There is no 'diet' to help deal with those debilitating mental illnesses - good food can cure a lot of things, but it can't help bipolar and schizophrenia anymore than it can help cancer.
